Jeremiah Coholan was baptized on July 9, 1803 in Cork City, Ireland at St. Finbarr's.  At the time of his baptism, his parents Daniel Coholan and Catherine Walsh, lived on Hospital Lane in Cork City, Ireland.

Jeremiah Coholan married Joanna Connors/Conners (place unknown).

Jeremiah Coholan and his family were among the original settlers of Teetotal or Cork Settlement.  His name appears on the original grant for land.  The family was in Cork Settlement at least by 1841; however, the 1851 census states their arrival as 1840.
